The travel industry's leading media event returns 17-18 May 2021, and repeats all the features of IMM 2020

TravMedia has today announced that IMM 2021 will take place on 17-18 May, at the event's long-term home, the prestigious QEII Centre in London's Westminster.

Since its creation in the UK in 2013, IMM has grown to become the leading global event connecting the travel industry and media, with shows worldwide.

Exhibitor booking for the show is now live (www.travmedia.com/immuk), with a limited number of stands available at an earlybird rate. Journalist and influencer registration will commence in the New Year.

The event will once again feature two days of pre-booked meetings with journalists for exhibitors at their stands and pavilions, with influencer meetings and professional development sessions added into the mix on day two. The TravMedia Awards will follow on the night of 18 May, also at the QEII, following the end of IMM.

Over 12,000 meetings were booked at IMM this year (held 9-10 March), with over 400 journalists and influencers attending the show.

Media titles in attendance included The Daily Telegraph, The Guardian, The Daily Mail, The Sun, National Geographic Traveller, Heat, Cosmopolitan, Wanderlust, Bradt Guides, TTG and Travel Weekly. Exhibitor highlights included a 37-strong delegation of France's regions, cities and visitor attractions, and a pavilion showcasing all Australian states. Sponsors included Atout France, CityPASS, Destination New South Wales, Royal Commission for AlUla, Tourism Australia, Tenerife Tourism Corporation, Visit Wales, and VisitEngland.

IMM exhibitors will once again benefit from fully-equipped stands with pre-printed graphics and a table from which to enjoy up to 56 pre-booked meetings with top journalists, influencers and content creators. Brands taking a two-person stand can choose to benefit from an additional set of appointments for their second delegate.

Directly after the close of IMM on 18 May, The TravMedia Awards take centre stage at the venue, with 2021's Awards to be announced at a glittering seated gala dinner for the first time. The TravMedia Awards recognise the achievements of everyone from travel journalists to broadcasters, influencers to PR professionals, and generated an enormous entry in their first year.

Amongst the most hotly contested awards will be Travel Journalist of the Year, PR Professional of the Year, and Influencer of the Year. The evening also features an Outstanding Contribution Award.

Said Henry Hemming, TravMedia UK's Managing Director: “Everyone in the industry is looking forward with eager anticipation to travel events returning, and we hope that pushing back IMM to May will prove to be a prudent move.

“We're focused on delivering the perfect comeback event to help all our customers promote summer 2021 and beyond, but caution has naturally led us to push back from our usual March date for the show.”

TravMedia has advised exhibitors and media that if the epidemic and resultant government mandates necessitate a further delay for the event, then it will either be rescheduled for a later date or replaced with a virtual event.

The company, holder of Safer Events Accreditation, is taking all possible steps to ensure IMM 2021 is the safest event for attendees.

IMM's networking opportunities will continue to include a lunch and evening drinks reception on day one, and a networking lunch and the awards ceremony on day two. IMM's second day will also once again feature five breakout professional development sessions for exhibitors, delivered by top media and PR professionals. Topics will be announced early in 2021.

The event's Meetings Manager platform continues to be upgraded to include new profiling features that will enable exhibitors and visitors to identify perfect meetings matches.
