Apps and Ozone Keeping Cornwall's Budock Vean Safe and Green

Investment in new technology for cleaning, bookings, resort research and information is helping the Budock Vean country house hotel on Cornwall's Helford River keep its impeccably green credentials intact while adding extra safeguarding layers for staff and guests alike.

In a luxury resort where scrupulous deep-cleaning is a given, a cutting edge ozone sanitisation and disinfection system is another crucial measure in place as the Budock Vean team prepares to welcome a wave of guests from July 10th.

Pride of place in the house-keeping department is the new Tersano ozone cleaning system which infuses tap water with ozone to create a simple, safe and sustainable way to clean and sanitise. It eliminates germs, kills viruses and bacteria and has no toxins, carcinogens or chemical residue. It also gets rid of the need for single-use plastic bottles as everything is refillable and re-usable.

Alongside this investment comes a beautiful new Budock Vean App, through Vamoos, which gets rid of printed material in the rooms and suites, gives a full tour of the hotel, the estate and facilities, allows bookings for breaks, meal orders and for local attractions and activities and tours all the things to see in the area.

Phone lines to the Budock Vean have been red hot and the hotel will re-open on Friday 10 July in the knowledge that their teams are fully trained in the new technologies and the entire hotel and its 65 acres of golf fairways, tennis courts and waterside gardens and woodland are deep down immaculate.

The golf course and tennis courts are already open – but it is undeniably disappointing, as for all owners of leisure and wellbeing facilities, that the impressive indoor pool, the brand new outdoor hot tub and Natural Health Spa cannot open until the government gives the green light. Owner Martin Barlow and his team have made stringent, workable and, most importantly, safe plans for this and are lobbying with the rest of the leisure industry to be given the go-ahead.
Martin says, “We cannot wait to welcome our guests back again but we need everything to be in place to make sure they and our colleagues are safe. We want guests to be able to relax and enjoy their precious and much needed holidays without any worries and we've worked incredibly hard through these lockdown months to make sure everything works like clockwork.

“Alongside all this - we have worked so hard for decades to make sure every area of our resort is run on the most environmentally friendly lines, from gardens and kitchens to leisure areas and house-keeping - so we've accelerated our investment in new sustainable technology like the ozone cleaning system and our app, which we're very proud of!”
