Challenge Yourself to a New
Sporting Endeavour at Blenheim Palace
Blenheim Palace are inviting you to take part in a sporting challenge this year. Kick-start the new decade with health, fitness and wellness in the stunning surroundings of the Oxfordshire World Heritage Site.
Take on a new activity, run a PB in the 'Capability' Brown Parkland, and encourage all the family to take part, creating sustainable goals for healthy habits.
We've put together our Top 5 Sporting Challenges for the year ahead:
Blenheim Palace Strava Running Club
Challenge yourself, get fit and enjoy the beautiful great outdoors when you sign up to the Blenheim Palace Strava Running Club. Choose from a number of short and longer run routes to help get you fit for your next fitness challenge. From the Queen Pool to the extended Park run, there are plenty of routes to choose from with varying degrees of difficulty for amateurs to seasoned athletes!
OX5 Run 29th March
Runners and walkers of all abilities can sign up to the OX5 Run which is a five-mile course around the Blenheim Palace Parkland. Do good and feel good as you raise money for the Oxford Children's Hospital, which looks after thousands of children each year.
This event represents the biggest annual fundraiser, and last year raised an incredible
£150,000, helping to buy state of the art equipment at the children's ward at the Horton General Hospital, Children's Critical Care Unit at the John Radcliffe and Oxford Children's Hospital.
Blenheim 7K Fun Run 19th April
For those who want the bling of a medal, sign up to the Blenheim 7K Fun Run. The course is suitable for all ages and abilities offering a challenging run for the more experienced, and beautiful surroundings for beginners or those running at a more leisurely pace.
All competitors will receive a medal, as well as prizes for the winners, and trophies for the fastest teams. There is also a wheelchair and buggy event taking a slightly different course and a 1-mile Junior race, open to under 15s.
Bloodwise Blenheim Palace Triathlon 30th – 31st May
If one sporting discipline isn't enough try the Blenheim Palace Tri! This hugely popular event offers an exceptional challenger for competitors and serious scenery for a super spectator sport too.
Billed as one of the most spectacular triathlons in Europe, set against the backdrop of a World Heritage Site, the Bloodwise Blenheim Palace Triathlon has three distances; Sprint Distance, Super Sprint and Weekend Warrior.
Attracting the sport's great athletes, including the Brownlee brothers, explore Parkland like never before by foot, bike and swim.
British Heart Foundation Half Marathon 27th September
A perfect event to give you an incentive to increase your weekly mileage. Get fit and help save lives by raising vital funds to beat heart disease in the annual BHF Half Marathon. With three distances available there is something for runners of all ages and abilities, from a Half Marathon, 10K or 2K Fun Run.
