To see in the New Year, the premiere of the INNS'zenierung has taken a novel approach in (almost) every way. Innsbruck's Bergsilvester (New Year's Eve in the Mountains), celebrated for the first time in 1994, will be even more beautiful and multifaceted. Shrouded in a magical mist, the River Inn will become the stage for a new audio-visual show with light and sound effects, providing visitors with a unique New Year's experience. For three days in the course of the INNS'zenierung, the city's flowing lifeline will be the focal point of the celebrations.

On 31 December, the INNS'zenierung will be celebrating a world premiere as part of Innsbruck's Bergsilvester. With the motto "The World Visits Innsbruck", the ingredients of light, water, mist and sound will conjure up a celebration of the New Year the like of which the city has never witnessed before. The big fireworks on the top of the mountain at 2000 metres (6500 feet) and the 70 metres (230feet) high water fountains at the River Inn in the city center will wow visitors and give the perfect setting for dancing a Walz into the new year, as its traditionally done in Austria.

Innsbruck's Bergsilvester takes up the entire evening programme. From 8pm you can stroll along the mystically illuminated River Inn with casual lounge music to get you in the mood for the New Year's Eve highlight. From 10pm it's time to celebrate and see out the old year dancing to DJ music. INNS'zenierung, the unprecedented light, water, mist and sound show, is the highlight of the most spectacular outdoor New Year's Eve party in Central Europe, the stage being provided by a 350-metre stretch of the River Inn. Water fountains up to 70 metres high, light and video projections and mist blend with the appropriate music to create a truly spectacular show, making the New Year celebrations an unforgettable experience.

But New Year's Eve is celebrated not only in the city but also in the mountains. On the Nordkette mountain high above Innsbruck, visitors will be enchanted by a traditional firework display. And at midnight, visitors to Innsbruck's Bergsilvester can enjoy a unique symbiosis of tradition and modernity with alpine and urban highlights. And there are many more events and attractions on offer to delight the whole family.
