Operator strengthens its Indian Ocean range in 2020 launch
A total of 16 new hotels across the Maldives, Mauritius, Sri Lanka, Seychelles and Arabia have been added to Kuoni's Indian Ocean collection for 2020.
In the Seychelles, Kuoni has added three new resorts as demand grows. Bookings are up for 2019, with the ease of the direct British Airways flight having a positive impact on the destination's tourism.
As well as new hotels and resorts, there is a strong focus on Kuoni's seven exclusive properties in the Maldives.
Sheena Paton, Senior Product and Purchasing Manager said: “Our collection of resorts, exclusive to Kuoni in the UK range from great value rustic islands to barefoot luxury with extensive inclusions. They each offer excellence in their class of product, supported by outstanding customer feedback and high levels of repeat stays. These are all tried and tested favourites with Kuoni customers.”
From high-end luxury in Mauritius to rustic retreats in the Seychelles, Kuoni's programme includes over 150 properties in eight countries across the Indian Ocean and Arabia regions.
New family resorts in the Maldives
Kuoni has added two new resorts in the Maldives, bringing the total to 37. Opened two years ago, Reethi Faru is the sister property to Reethi Beach and is located in the Raa Atoll. Ideal for sports enthusiasts, there is a cool range of water sports including Peter Diving, Jet Skiing and Windsurfing.
The collection also features OBLU Select at Sangeli, offering a family friendly and adults only option in one resort. Unlike other resorts, it has its own island exclusively for adults which is located at the end of the water villa jetty and can be reached by boat. With trampolines, a water slide and a great kids club – there is plenty to keep children entertained on the main island.
Staff investment being made in Mauritius
In Mauritius, Kuoni has added two new properties to its portfolio including adults-only resort Lagoon Attitude, bringing its collection of Attitude properties to six. Preskil Island Resort has also returned after undergoing a major renovation.
Designed by Kelly Hoppen, the LUX* Grand Gaube is new to the programme. It has been completely revamped with uber cool African-influenced interiors, a gin bar offering a selection of over 100 gins and live cooking stations showcasing cuisines from South America to Turkey.
Investment is also being put into Kuoni staff knowledge, with a mega educational to Mauritius planned for 25 sales staff later this month.
Seychelles
Newly added to the brochure is the sister hotel to Hilton Seychelles Labriz Resort & Spa, Hilton Seychelles Northholme Resort and Spa, a small boutique property in the north of Mahe which is the perfect base for honeymooners to enjoy a floating breakfast of champagne and canapés.
Set on its own private island within a marine national park, Cerf Island Resort is made up of a small collection of rustic hillside villas and suites, offering an all-inclusive option which is rare to find in the Seychelles.
New Resorts in Oman and Dubai
Another highlight added to the collection is Oman's Kempinski Hotel Muscat located fifteen minutes away from city centre, with its striking architecture and design, the hotel prides itself on its modern appearance. The hotel is definitely one for foodies: it even has its own culinary concierge.
In Dubai, JA's Lakeview is located 45 minutes from either Dubai or Abu Dhabi airports and has over 40 incredible activities to thrill all generations.
The latest collection is out on 31 May and can be found in Kuoni's Indian Ocean & Arabia 2020 brochure & online at www.kuoni.co.uk.
