Thila, in the local language, Dhivehi, means 'reef' and the restaurant celebrates contemporary interior design, with a feel of the Indian Ocean, constructed from distinctive materials such as lava stone, ceramic, travertine tiles,  and natural woods with a blue finish to compliment the nearby turquoise waters and cerulean skies.

The two-storey restaurant boasts high ceilings under a traditional Maldivian palm thatched roof. With unique features such as a pond with a glass walkway and private dining areas, the impressive bar with sea views and an open display kitchen, exudes an airy and relaxed atmosphere.

The composition of Thila has been enhanced to allow unforgettable experiences for guests, with dining available on the beach front terrace, first floor dining balcony, or an overwater open-air deck or set amongst the waterside palm trees, with your feet in the sand, each of these areas has its own remarkable views, looking out onto the tranquil waters of the Indian Ocean.

Premium Breakfast is served seven days a week, from 8am until 11am. Guests can enjoy sitting at the water's edge and savouring à la carte hot main dishes, coffee, fresh juices and champagne. Hot dishes range from Vanilla Hotcakes with caramelised bananas, to Corn fritters with avocado, egg, tomato chili jam, coriander and lime, to a Maldivian style omelette with flaked reef fish, coconut sambal and curry leaves.

Thila is open for dinner each day, with the core of the menu comprising fresh, top quality seafood, prime meat, and products that speak for themselves. The Raw Bar offers Oysters, Tuna Tartare and Wagyu Beef Carpaccio, alongside handmade Sushi and Caviar. To whet the appetite guests can choose from a range of dishes inspired by varying cuisines from Beetroot Risotto with Walnuts to a Tom Yum Salad, and a range of soups.

Pasta dishes, grilled seafood, including Yellowfin Tuna and Lobster, as well as Grilled Steaks and exotic meats including South African Ostrich and Australian Lamb, are just a taste of what's in store for the Main Course. Vibrant sides such as Truffled mashed potatoes, Maldivian young coconut salad and add an additional touch of luxury to the meal.
