British Airways i360

British Airways i360, the viewing tower on Brighton seafront, has today launched an Annual Pass, with the message 'every day is different'

British Airways i360 offers visitors panoramic views across Brighton & Hove, the South Downs and the Sussex coastline year-round; on sunny days and snow days, on still crisp mornings and stormy afternoons, through sunrises, sunsets and at night.

Annual passes go on sale today [April 2], during English Tourism Week, at BritishAirwaysi360.com and cost £30 for adults and £15 for children (ages 4 – 15 years) per year. During the month of April, BA i360 Local Resident Members living in BN1, BN2, BN3 and BN41 can upgrade their membership to an Annual Pass for just £25 per adult.

Annual Pass holders can enjoy unlimited pod flights throughout the year*. They'll also receive 10% discount at the Nyetimber Sky Bar on the pod, 20% discount in the British Airways i360 beachside shop and 20% discount at the West Beach Café & Bar.

Photographer John Matt Ward from Hove created a grid of images to illustrate the new British Airways i360 Annual Pass, showing the attraction at different times of day and in varying weather conditions.

He said: “Over two years I photographed the i360 from the vantage point of my balcony in Furze Hill, Hove. The 360 final photographs, selected from over 2,000, were taken from the same position on different days at various times.”

He said his intention was to create “a temporal record of the i360 interacting with the ever-changing weather, its cloud formations, atmosphere and colour, thus capturing the observation of both permanence and impermanence.”

Meanwhile at the attraction, senior pod host Dawn Turner has taken around 4,500 flights on the pod since it opened in 2016.

She said: “On clear days we enjoy bright blue skies merging into calm blue seas. Then on other days we watch weather fronts rolling in across the South Downs and the waves crashing on the beach below. Sunsets are our most popular flights, with the red and orange sky and the sun sinking into the sea, it's incredible.

“I never get tired of looking at the view from the British Airways i360 pod, because every day is different.”

British Airways i360 was conceived and designed by Marks Barfield Architects, creators of the London Eye. It welcomed its one millionth visitor last month.

*British Airways i360 closes on Christmas Day and for two weeks' annual maintenance every January. Annual Passes may not be used for certain special events. Check the membership portal at BritishAirwaysi360.com for details.

About British Airways i360
British Airways i360 is an observation attraction on Brighton seafront which was conceived and designed by Marks Barfield Architects, creators of the London Eye. It opened in August 2016.

Visitors board a giant glass observation pod and glide up gently to 138m (450ft) above Brighton beach to enjoy unfolding views across Brighton & Hove, the South Downs National Park and the beautiful Sussex coastline. 'Flights' depart every 30 minutes and the pod carries up to 175 passengers, who are free to walk around freely. While on board, they can also enjoy a drink at the Nyetimber Sky Bar which serves a range of refreshments from Sussex including Nyetimber, an award-winning sparkling wine.

At ground level is the British Airways i360 beach building, which houses West Beach Bar & Kitchen, a stylish all-day restaurant with sea views and a large terrace spilling out onto the promenade. Dishes feature ingredients sourced from the local area. The beach building also has flexible beachside events spaces, most with private beach terraces, which can be hired for private functions and can accommodate up to 1,100 people.

British Airways i360 is licensed for weddings and couples can marry in the pod, saying 'I do' at 138m above Sussex.

British Airways i360 has worked with the West Pier Trust to reconstruct two of the original West Pier tollbooths using Victorian building techniques. The buildings now grace the entrance to British Airways i360 and house the West Beach Café & Bar and the British Airways i360 ticket office.

The British Airways i360 shop stocks beautiful gifts and use, many of which have been created by local Brighton artists.

A year-round programme of events in the pod includes Sky Dining, iDrop, Live @ the Sky Bar, Halloween Fright Flights and Santa Flights.

British Airways i360 is owned and operated by Brighton i360 Ltd.
