The Tequila Train Continues! Mundo Cuervo Invites Travelers to Explore the World of Tequila in 2019 With a New Cultural Center, Hotels, Culinary and Wellness Experiences

Welcome to Tequila, a Magical Town in Jalisco, Mexico which never stops surprising its visitors. In 2019, Mundo Cuervo® is proud to present seven unique culinary, adventure travel and cultural experiences in Tequila, Jalisco:

NEW FOR 2019: A vibrant new cultural center with two exhibitions and a second hotel, home to the flavors of Jalisco, round out 2019's newest experiences

Home to Culture in Jalisco: Aimed to preserve the Mexican heritage and showcase the real face of Mexico through arts, the Juan Beckmann Gallardo Cultural Center was inaugurated last December 1st in el Pueblo Mágico de Tequila. Designed by Jorge Loyzaga, this center was inspired by an XVIII-century Baroque building in Mexico City opens with two exhibitions: “Charrería: A Story of Equine History in Mexico” a selection of pre and post-Hispanic including a vast collection of riding saddles, “Charro” suits and preserved carriages, as well as “Grand Masters” featuring a selection of 500 pieces of popular art from all over Mexico.

Villa Tequila's Taste of Mexico: In addition, guests will be able to enjoy a second hotel within the Mundo Cuervo experienceHotel Villa Tequila, home to the flavors, the aromas and the exciting history of the blue agave. Hotel Villa Tequila joined Mundo Cuervo in summer 2018, and offers one of the best restaurants and bars of the city of Tequila, where guests can enjoy the region's typical dishes such as steak with chilaquiles and beans, or Huichol Shrimp, prepared with an earthy, medium spicy hot sauce seasoned with the best spices and hot peppers from the Nayar Mountains, both enjoyed with a selection of the region's tequilas. 

Enchantment in every room: Hotel Solar de las Animas, a Relais & Chateaux luxury Hotel, welcomes guests to enjoy the best of Tequila while staying at this enchanting Creole colonial house, representative of Mexican architecture from the 17th and 18th century. Situated alongside the church of St. James the Apostle in the heart of the town of Tequila, and nestled at the foot of the great volcano, it's a perfect location for guests to explore and enjoy all the attractions and tours of the area, as well as to experience day-to-day life in this Pueblo Mágico – one of Mexico's famed “magical towns”. In its 93 rooms, guests enjoy how state-of-the-art technology and comfort blend in perfect harmony with the old-world enchantments of a town with over two centuries of history and tradition.

Not your typical Tequila Sunrise: The Jose Cuervo Express classic luxury train travels through majestic agave fields en route to Tequila, offering unique experiences tailored to the seasonal festivities and event the time of day. On the Jose Cuervo Tequila Sunrise Train you will awaken your senses starting in Guadalajara, and begin your journey aboard the train with a professional tasting guided by a "Maestro Tequilero." The tour continues with a visit of Tour of the Jose Cuervo® “La Rojeña®” Distillery, free time to enjoy the pueblo mágico of Tequila, an Insta-worthy visit to the blue agave fields and a colorful cultural fiesta. The train also makes special itineraries throughout the year, including the Día de los Muertos, which is an overnight itinerary which explores all the tastes, traditions, mystery and enchantment of Jalisco, Mexico.

Step Back in Time: Fábrica La Rojeña, Latin America’s oldest distillery, offers guests the chance to discover the secrets of tequila-making history as well as the tequila way of life. Guests will meet the jimadores, bakers and tequila blenders, and learn how centuries of tradition ensure delicacy on the palate. Your visit will include stepping into history in the blue agave fields accompanied by an expert jimador, a guided tour of la Riojeña distillery and the Reserva de la Familia cellar, tasting straight from the barrel. You'll also tour the Maestro Tequilero hacienda and the Los Limoneros garden, finishing up with tasty Mexican culinary delights. Excited for more? You can also Horseback ride through Jose Cuervo’s agave fields, in the shadows of a now-dormant volcano.

The Perfect Stage for Ceremony: Hacienda El Centenario’s salons, sculptures, patios, and gardens offer guests the chance to create memorable events with an authentic, enchanting and earm flair typical of the town of Tequila. While on site at the hacienda, guests can enjoy the “La Tienda de Raya” a historic site with the longest bar counter in Latin America, and with the largest set of collectible items (more than 1,600) in México.
