Specialist tourism and travel publishers Morris Media Network has appointed Katrina Holden as editor of its long-running title Vacations & Travel, now celebrating its 35th year.

Working as the editor across the quarterly print title and on digital, Katrina Holden will be responsible for the editorial direction of the brand. She joins the company at a dynamic time during an expansion phase for the company and a restructure of the editorial and sales teams, with the recent appointment of a new publisher Adam Davy, a relaunched Vacations & Travel website, and with plans for a number of upcoming partnerships set to increase commercial opportunities and the footprint of the Morris Media Network in Australian travel media.

Katrina Holden is a tertiary qualified journalist who has worked in publishing and communications since 1996 in the travel, drinks, food, hospitality and lifestyle categories. In previous positions, she has been the editor of inflight magazines for Rex Airlines, Airnorth and Alliance Airlines; editor of Luxury Travel magazine; editor-at-large for respected Australian travel trade website, Travel Monitor; editor of Australian trade wine and spirits magazines for nearly a decade including Drinks magazine and National Liquor News; and deputy editor of Weight Watchers magazine. She has also spent time as a freelance writer and editorial contractor with articles published in Travel & Indulgence (The Australian); delicious. magazine, James Halliday's Wine Companion magazine, Out & About with Kids, Holidays with Kids, Wine Business Monthly and Meininger's Wine Business International.

In addition, Katrina ran her own consumer blog about drinks and lifestyle for several years and has also spent time outside of publishing in communications roles including at one of Australia's leading private girls' schools as a media and marketing manager. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Macquarie University and a Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism from the University of Technology, Sydney.
