Destination Canada, Canada's national tourism marketing organisation, this week welcomed two new exciting members to the Canadian Signature Experiences collection from across Canada.
The Canadian Signature Experiences is a curated collection of over 200 authentic and authentically Canadian travel experiences. As diverse as the country itself, these unique experiences are offered from coast to coast to coast and provide an introduction to the best Canada – and Canadians - has to offer.
“The quality experiences and activities that form the Canadian Signature Experiences collection offer visitors to Canada an authentic insight into our diverse country,” said David F. Goldstein, Destination Canada's President and CEO. “They are designed to inspire travellers to consider new, often surprising adventures and locations in Canada, and we believe our two new members will do just that”.
Tourism is Canada's number one service export, with international revenues reaching $21.3 billion in 2017. Over 736,000 jobs in communities from coast to coast to coast were directly supported by tourism in 2017, up 2% over 2016.
The two new experiences are:
Guided Adventures with SkiBig3 – Alberta
Travellers can now experience Alberta's 3 iconic ski resorts ,Banff Sunshine, Mt. Norquay and Lake Louise Ski Resort through the eyes of a local. Skiers and boarders will be immersed in the local ski culture with SkiBig3's Guided Adventures. With nearly 8,000 acres of skiable terrain to cover, skiers and boarders can find the best spots on the mountain, uncover secret stashes of snow and hidden powder gems and enjoy an insiders tour led by a CSIA certified instructor. The three day programme includes one day at each resort and is tailored to the guest's style and preference in terrain. The experience also includes lift line priority, a maple taffy closing celebration, surprise gift and a pass to the Whyte Museum in Banff.

Baffin Island: Jewel of the High Arctic with One Ocean Expeditions – Nunavut
Travellers board the 96 passenger One Ocean Navigator/Akademik Ioffe at Iqaluit in Nunavut to cross the Arctic Circle and explore the wild east coast of Baffin Island. Meet traditional Inuit communities, watch for polar bears, seals and narwhals, and stop at Ninginganiq National Wildlife Area, a bowhead whale sanctuary.
