London, July 2018: Shangri-La's Villingili Resort & Spa, Maldives is excited to announce that BABBA, the internationally acclaimed ABBA tribute act, will be performing live to guests on New Year's Eve.  Originally from Australia, BABBA has been entertaining audiences across the globe for over twenty years receiving outstanding reviews for its electrifying renditions of ABBA's greatest hits including “Dancing Queen”, “Thank You for the Music” and “Fernando”.  This festive season, guests at Shangri-La's Villingili Resort & Spa will be transported back in time to the 70s as BABBA take to the stage in satin, sequins and psychedelic prints for a showstopping performance that will bring the magic and music of the cult Swedish band to life. Shangri-La's Villingili is embracing ABBA fever, which is set to take hold with the release of “Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again” on 22 July 2018, by inviting Benny, Bjorn, Agnetha and Frida vocal impersonators to join guests as they ring in the New Year in style on the shores of this exclusive island paradise.

The resort will offer a star-studded festive programme for 2018 which promises to delight and inspire guests with some of the world's best performers, exciting dining pop-ups with renowned international hotspots, celebrated sports masters, and recreational activities for the whole family. The highlight will be the ABBA inspired “Here We Go Again – Retro Glam' Party” on New Year's Eve when the island will be transformed into a white and gold tropical paradise with themed decorations and glamorous settings. BABBA will take to the stage on Villingili's powder white sands to perform two sets of 50 minutes each, complete with original choreography, dazzling costumes and mesmerising vocal harmonies set against the glittering backdrop of a star filled sky in the Maldives' southernmost atoll.
