Ovolo Hotels Takes a Global Stance on Communications

Award-winning, design-lead hotel group Ovolo Hotels has taken its communication strategy global, appointing agencies across Australasia, South East Asia, United Kingdom and North America.

Ovolo has appointed two PR agencies in Australia: Kate & Co., who will lead the key brand pillars of fashion, art, music and travel, and The Cru Media who will head up the food and beverage portfolio.

Stephen Howard, Director of Marketing at Ovolo Hotel Group, says Ovolo has become one of the world's most disruptive hotel brands thanks to an in-depth understanding and appreciation of local markets.

“We are inspired by our surrounds, infusing the best elements of each city – design, art, music, food, and culture – into our hotels.

“Ovolo's new global communication strategy will complement our mission to build brand positioning and awareness, particularly in new key target markets such as South East Asia, New Zealand, United States and the United Kingdom,” Howard said.

Kate & Co.'s unparalleled media networks across Australia and New Zealand will perfectly fit with Ovolo Hotels and the groups new brand which combines contemporary design, co-working and compact private and shared accommodation, Mojo Nomad.

Ovolo's innovative approach extends beyond the hotel rooms with their restaurant and bar offerings – including hatted Monster Bar & Kitchen (Canberra), acclaimed Chef Anthony Hales' Salon De Co (Brisbane) and Australia's first 100% plant-based hotel restaurant Alibi (Sydney).

Katherine Amara Agency has been appointed to manage local Hong Kong and South East Asian communications. Ovolo currently has three hotels in Hong Kong under both the Ovolo and Mojo Nomad brands with a fourth hotel to open in the 3rd quarter of this year under the Mojo Nomad brand in the heart of Central. Additionally, Ovolo Central will see a major evolution including new suites, public areas and a new F&B concept whilst Ovolo Southside alongside its restaurant Komune will also get a refresh to rooms and public areas.

Specialist travel and lifestyle agency WEILL has been appointed to service the North America and United Kingdom markets. Both have been identified as influential inbound markets for Australia and Hong Kong, which makes them critical targets from a development and expansion perspective.
