Luxury Hampshire country house hotel, Tylney Hall Hotel & Gardens, has unveiled a newly-refurbished State Suite, which is open to the public for the fist time and is the grandest suite in the 112-room hotel.
Following a £120,000 refurbishment, the State Suite epitomises elegance and luxury, seamlessly blending a fresh, new design with the classic stylings of the Grade II* Listed Victorian mansion house hotel.
The suite enjoys the best views in the hotel, overlooking the Italian Garden and Boathouse Lake, as well as taking in the redwood-flanked vista – the longest uninterrupted view in Hampshire. The room benefits from tall ceilings, exquisite furnishings and a heavenly free-standing bath with breath-taking views of the Hampshire countryside, along with a large separate lounge, a walk-in wardrobe to the bathroom and a rainwater shower.
The State Suite will be named after Thomas Mugleston, founder of Tylney Hall Hotel and the Elite Hotels Group.
Graeme Bateman, managing director of the Elite Hotels Group, said: “Formerly the family suite of Thomas Mugleston, the State Suite is appropriately named in his memory recognising the significant part he and his wife played in restoring both the hall and gardens during his long ownership. Commanding spectacular views of the estate, it has been restored to its former glory whilst furnished for tomorrow's traveller. It is perfect as a first-night luxury for brides and grooms, anniversary stays, special occasions or just an indulgent treat.”
Looking further back into the hotel's history, the suite is said to have been used by the wife of former owner Sir Lionel Philips, Lady Florence Philips (whose portrait hangs in the hotel's Italian Lounge) as a boudoir for her extensive collection of beautiful gowns.
Stays in the Thomas Mugleston State Suite at Tylney Hall Hotel & Gardens start from £600 per room, including breakfast, a complimentary half bottle of Champagne, chocolates, fruit platter and complimentary soft drinks mini bar.
