Carbis Bay Hotel & Estate is delighted to announce that Carbis Bay Beach, near St Ives, has retained its Blue Flag status for the 12th year running. Carbis Bay Beach's Seaside Award has also been retained, further bolstering its reputation as one of the best beaches in the UK.

The Blue Flag is a certification awarded by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) which declares that a beach, marina or sustainable boating tourism operator meets its high standards of environmental information, education and management as well as water quality, safety and services. Keep Britain Tidy's Seaside Award scheme, previously known as the Quality Coast Award is the nationwide standard for the best beaches across the UK, ensuring visitors are guaranteed to find a stretch of coast that is clean, safe and well-managed.

“We are very proud that our Carbis Bay Beach has been awarded Blue Flag status for the 12th year running,” said Stephen Baker, owner and Managing Director of Carbis Bay Hotel & Estate. “The awards are granted to beach operators, who make a special effort to manage their beaches and coastal environment and retaining the status assures guests and visitors of the very highest standards of care.  We maintain and fund all the beach facilities and operations ourselves and take our duty of care very seriously, patrolling daily to ensure we offer our visitors a clean, safe, enjoyable environment. ”

Carbis Bay Hotel & Estate overlooks the Bay's sparkling turquoise waters and offers guests and local residents alike direct access to its privately owned 25 acres of sandy beach. The re-certification comes at a significant time for the Estate, which has undertaken extensive beach regeneration investment to create a new luxury beachside venue with accommodation and further facilities.
