
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (May 1, 2018) – As one of the fastest-growing cities in the U.S. and with an increase in business and leisure travel each year, the hotel market in Charlotte, North Carolina—the largest city in the Carolinas—is one of the most active in the country.
More than 65 new hotels (7,700 rooms) are slated for the Charlotte region through 2022, including 10 hotels (1,500 rooms) in Center City. In 2018, 16 new hotels (1,862 rooms) are slated for the Charlotte region, including three hotels (404 rooms) in Center City.
Last year, the Charlotte region welcomed nine new hotels (1,284 rooms) bringing the total to 368 hotels (39,665 rooms) in the region. Four new hotels (704 rooms) opened in Center City bringing the total to 22 hotels (5,285 rooms) that are within walking distance of the Charlotte Convention Center.

Embassy Suites by Hilton Charlotte Uptown
Opening Date: March 2017

Located across the street from the Charlotte Convention Center and the NASCAR Hall of Fame, this 10-story all-suites hotel includes 930 square meters of event space, including the 567-square-meter Uptown Ballroom, Plaza Boardroom, QC Lounge, Meck Dec Patio and more. All rooms will include a kitchen and living area. Separate from both hotels, the 22nd floor of the tower will include a 125-square-meter penthouse suite available for rent through McKibbon Hospitality and an independent rooftop bar and restaurant, Nuvole Rooftop TwentyTwo. Holiday Inn Express & Suites

This property is planned to be Charlotte's first upscale, selected-service hotel focused on wellness-minded travelers. Plans include two ground-floor restaurants, an expansive fitness center, healthy food and beverage options, and in-room exercise equipment. Home2 Suites by Hilton at Stonewall Station

Also located at the LYNX Blue Line light rail's Stonewall Station and across the street from the NASCAR Hall of Fame and Charlotte Convention Center, Home2 Suites by Hilton is a 10-story all-suite, extended-stay hotel above the new 459 Novel Stonewall Station apartment complex and a Whole Foods Market. The hotel is slated to include a meeting room on the top floor, various gathering spaces, an outdoor pool, a fitness center and 1,254 square meters of ground-floor retail, among other features.
