The Star Gold Coast continues to elevate its luxury standards and world-class integrated product, unveiling its new health and wellness facility and exciting new events spaces as part of its current transformation.

A new day spa, known as Azure Spa & Fitness, offers guests a luxurious menu of premium products, treatments and services as well as a state-of-the-art fitness centre.

The iconic Broadbeach property has also revealed the expansion of its meeting and events offering, including a unique new poolside lawn, additional boardrooms, poolside meeting rooms, and rebranding of the Pavilion Convention Centre to Event Centre at The Star Gold Coast, plus a refreshed look and feel for the space.

The Star Entertainment Group Managing Director Queensland Geoff Hogg says the property has built an undeniable reputation as a prime destination to stay and play and is now enhancing this experience with a deluxe health and wellness offering, further showcasing the property's dedication to delivering a leading integrated resort experience.

“We have opened the doors to a retreat where guests can relax and be pampered, or make use of high-end gymnasium equipment, providing the complete experience of a world-class integrated resort,” Mr Hogg said.

“The diversification of the property's current offerings further cements its reputation as a five-star hotspot for major events on the national calendar, and supports the city's vision of propelling the Gold Coast onto the world stage with our focus on the convention, exhibition and event market through our redevelopment.

“Celebrating our stunning climate and coastal lifestyle is at the forefront of what we do so we are incredibly excited to unveil our new health and wellness facility, poolside spaces and to create bespoke events with our food and beverage offerings tailored perfectly to our clients' needs,” he said.

Azure Spa & Fitness

Azure Spa & Fitness' ocean-inspired design and vibe reflects the Gold Coast's beachside lifestyle with mother-of-pearl hued mosaic tiles, crisp light interior with soft textural wallpaper elements coming together to represent our coastal city. The spaces feature unique local, tropical plants indigenous to the area.

Open to hotel guests and the general public, the day spa boasts six treatment rooms, each embodying its own design character, including a couple's space and a dedicated manicure and pedicure room. An extensive range of premium massage, spa and beauty treatments is on offer for men and women, while poolside cabanas are available to spa guests for post-treatment relaxation. The treatment menu showcases the spa's partnership with international luxury skincare brand ESPA, exclusively available at The Star properties with The Darling Spa at The Star Sydney also offering the range.

The new fitness facility boasts an extensive range of connected cardio, strength, skill and Kinesis equipment from Technogym's ARTIS and SKILL lines, the first in Queensland to offer Technogym connected equipment. Over 6,600 athletes will also train with the equipment in more than 13 state-of-the-art facilities at the upcoming Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games, of which The Star Gold Coast is an Official Partner.

Event Centre at The Star Gold Coast

The Star Gold Coast is home to some of Australia's biggest and most prestigious events including functions for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games, and the CMC Music Awards 2018 for the second year running. The venue will also host the 2018 TV WEEK Logies on July 1, 2018.

New additions and enhancements to its convention and meeting space continues to elevate the status of The Star Gold Coast as an in-demand events destination, drawing increasing interest from key industry and corporate business both at home and overseas.

The refurbishment project features a series of flexible spaces allowing delegates to go from boardroom to ballroom to poolside all under one roof, providing all the elements needed for the premium, large-scale conference and event market.

Specifically, the new facilities include a poolside events lawn unlike anything else on offer on the Gold Coast, additional boardrooms, poolside meeting rooms and kitchen facilities, rebranding of the Pavilion Convention Centre to Event Centre at The Star Gold Coast and a refreshed look and feel for the space.

Tailored events can take place at almost any location throughout the property depending on the needs of the guest, including three signature and award-winning dining venues Kiyomi, Cucina Vivo, or Garden Kitchen & Bar for more intimate events, or bigger spaces such as the Event Centre Ballroom and Marquee.

Following the success of the Garden Events Lawn, located outside the highly popular Garden Kitchen & Bar restaurant, the addition of the new Poolside Events Lawn has been designed as the perfect blank canvas to facilitate a wide range of themed events in a cocktail setting, with an extensive capacity of up to 800 guests.

Meanwhile, complementing the Event Centre's existing Gold Coast-inspired breakout meeting rooms, the new pool level spaces have been unveiled as the Kirra Boardroom, the Currumbin Room, the Burleigh Boardroom and the Stradbroke Room.

The design of the fresh spaces celebrates the Gold Coast's coastal vibe and the beauty of its natural surrounds, keeping the serenity of the beach at the forefront of the guest experience.

Business events at The Star Gold Coast can also capitalise on its state-of-the-art theatre – one of the biggest multifunctional theatres allowing for up to 2,150 guests (seated and standing). The mechanical thrust stage can be altered to suit any style of show, and the purpose-built movie projection booth can take the action from centre stage to the silver screen with ease.

Conferencing and events guests can also experience the newly renovated five-star hotel, The Star Grand, multi-award-winning restaurants and bars, and the centrepiece of the redevelopment – the new luxury suite hotel The Darling and its stunning rooftop restaurant and bar Nineteen at The Star, due to open this month.

The Star Gold Coast redevelopment

The Star Gold Coast's current transformation heralds a new era for the property and forms part of crucial investment in the region ahead of the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games.

Nine new food and beverage offerings, 596 refurbished hotel rooms at The Star Grand and a premium poolside experience are among the already completed offering, while luxury new suite hotel The Darling and its high-end rooftop restaurant, bar and infinity pool will form the centrepiece of the redevelopment.

A further food and beverage experience, Sports Bar, will also open this month when the existing building connects to The Darling.

Adding to the excitement is the planned addition of the first mixed-use residential apartment and hotel tower on Broadbeach Island. Pending successful pre-sales of The Star Residences, the 53-storey tower could be the first of up to five within a future master plan as part of a joint venture with renowned Hong Kong-based partners Chow Tai Fook and Far East Consortium.

The existing redevelopment at The Star Gold Coast and the build of The Darling has already delivered 600 new construction roles, while The Star Residences project would create around 500 construction roles over the next three to four years.

Together, the refurbishment of the existing property and the development of both The Darling and the proposed hotel and residential tower would involve a combined investment of up to $850 million.
