Spring is just around the corner and, as the days get longer and longer, those visiting Les Villages Nature® Paris have even more time to enjoy the great outdoors.

The eco-friendly holiday village, which opened in September 2017, has a whole host of exciting Easter-themed workshops and events, including an egg hunt, a chocolate workshop, a 'little Easter factory' and a special spring-themed forest show, so now is a great time to book a family adventure just outside France's capital.

On arrival, animal-lovers should head straight to BelleVie farm where they may even be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of chicks starting to hatch. Visitors who take part in the new 'farmhand for a day' activity can meet other cute creatures when they help to gather eggs, feed the calves and tend to the goats and pigs. Children aged three to 13 can learn how to take care of the cheeky ponies, from grooming to mucking out the stables, before riding with the wind in their hair in the woodland by the farm. Elsewhere, guests can become the bee's knees at honey-making, discover the art of baking bread, try a selection of arts and crafts and do some gardening as a family at the farm's workshops. Plus, the family-fun show, which takes place in the main yard, will entertain guests of all ages and the tea shop sells an array of seasonal tasty treats.

Those with green hands will enjoy exploring the Extraordinary Gardens. Here, spring can be enjoyed in all its glory with the birds singing and the flowers blooming; truly a colourful sight to behold. Breathe in the fresh air and marvel at the pretty scenery when taking a gentle stroll through the series of lawns that are designed to represent the four Greek elements: fire, water, earth and air, and pick up some top horticultural tips from the gardeners who will be hard at work.  

Water-sports enthusiasts can make the most of the grand Aqualagon. Even when the weather is cooler, swimmers can still splash about in the open air when they bathe in the outdoor pools, which are naturally heated to 30ºC throughout the year. If the weather is more April showers than spring sunshine, there is plenty to explore inside the Aqualagon, from its eight giant slides, spacious wave pool, warming hot tubs, aquatic climbing wall and kids' play areas. Those who have over-indulged on Easter eggs can work out in the fun, water-based fitness classes, whether it's fast-paced Aquacardio and Aquajump, or a satisfying morning stretch.

With all these activities on offer guests are bound to work up an appetite; Les Villages Nature® Paris has a wide range of restaurants and cafés catering for all visitors. Specialising in locally-sourced, seasonal produce, PUR Etc. will be organising a buffet brunch of sweet and savoury treats on each Sunday in April (1, 8, 15, 22, 29 April) from 10 am. Early risers can feast on smoked trout, eggs served with truffle oil, spring quiche, fruit salads, pastries, cakes and much more.

For a gourmet Easter lunch, head to Cépages on the Lakeside Promenade. The set menu will be available on Easter Sunday and Easter Monday and will include homemade foie gras, roasted lamb shank in thyme accompanied by grilled apple with truffle, followed by an assortment of local cheeses and, of course, chocolate treats.

And Easter would not be complete without those all-important eggs. Head to the on-site bakery, Chez Meunier, which – alongside its delicious freshly-baked bread and pastries – will demonstrate its confectionary-making expertise with decadent chocolate eggs on display for guests to devour.
