Miró Mallorca Foundació in Palma celebrates 25th anniversary with the re-opening of the 'Taller Sert' in June 2018

The Miró Mallorca Foundació – the museum in Palma which honours the life and work of Catalan artist Joan Miró - will celebrate its 25th anniversary with the renovation and re-opening of the 'Taller Sert' (Sert's workshop) in June 2018. Designed by Miró's friend Josep Lluis Sert – the workshop, which connected to his house - became the artist's main studio in 1956, and was where he created most of his work until his death. The artistic venue will be re-opened with new content to further reflect the life and work of the pioneering Catalan artist and to show the studio exactly how it was before Miró passed away. The Miró Mallorca Foundació will also host a series of events and workshops throughout the year in celebration of the 25th anniversary including the 'Miro: Esprit Salvatge' exhibition taking place from 17 February 2018 until 2019– featuring some of Miro's earlier and lesser-known work, and the Mallorca Saxophone festival, taking place on 28 February, 6, 15, 23 and 27 May, which will explore the role of the saxophone in modern-day music. www.miromallorca.com

Authentic 'Flao' making experience in one of Ibiza's ecological farms

For something a little bit different, ecological farm Can Toni Muson, located in the beautiful Ibicenco countryside offers workshops for guests to learn how to make Flao - the unique Ibiza cheesecake; one of the island's most popular desserts. Children will enjoy taking a tour of the ecological farm to learn about the farm animals and local agricultural produce. 'Ruta Martiana' in Palma's Sa Gerreria district

A collection of bars in the Sa Gerreria district of Palma (just east of the Placa Cort and Placa Major) are now offering a tapa or pinxo, plus a caña (a small beer) for just €2 on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. New luxury horse ranch hotel opens in Llucmajor in Mallorca  

A new luxury horse ranch hotel called the VMG Horse Ranch has recently opened in Llucmajor overlooking the Tramuntana mountain range in Mallorca. Located on a 100 acre estate, the hotel and stables offer a luxurious environment for those seeking an equestrian holiday. The property boasts a variety of riding amenities including a large riding hall, as well as three outdoor courts for dressage, jumping and western riding. The hotel has 22 luxuriously furnished apartments with private terraces and gardens, located next to the stable and paddocks. A restaurant serving traditional Mallorcan and international cuisine, a sun deck and swimming pool are also available at the ranch. Design Hotel Son Brull to launch new Spa

Luxury 5* design hotel Son Brull has announced the launch of a new spa, set to open in March 2018. Located in the northern part of Mallorca near Pollença, the family owned hotel has been built in a former monastery dating back to the 12th century. The new spa, complete with contemporary design elements in wood and stone, will be built in line with the hotel's original architecture. A new five-star boutique hotel has recently opened in the very heart of Palma.
