Customers travelling from Perth will soon have even more opportunity to tantalise their taste buds at 30,000 feet, with the launch of Singapore Airlines popular Book the Cook service, which includes creations inspired by the Airline's International Culinary Panel of world-renowned chefs.
Singapore Airlines currently offers the Book the Cook service from more than 20 destinations across its global network including on flights from Sydney and Melbourne for Suites, First Class, Business Class and Premium Economy Class customers.
From Sunday 1 October Business Class customers will have the option of pre-selecting their main meal up to 24 hours before they depart on any of Perth's four daily flights, from a wide selection of delicious dishes, including:
- Dukkah encrusted pan seared Tasmanian Salmon with white wine sauce
- Supreme roasted chicken stuffed with macadamia and served with flavoured thyme jus
- Wonton noodles in a savoury broth with BBQ pork, prawn dumplings, and Asian vegetables
- Hainanese chicken rice with dark soy sauce and chilli sauce.
Singapore Airlines Area Manager Western Australia, David Pinches, said the introduction of Book the Cook on flights from Perth would further enhance customer's onboard dining experience.
“Our Book the Cook service has proven to be extremely popular with our customers,” Mr Pinches said.
"We are very pleased to have worked with our local catering team, Alpha Flight Services, to create a delicious selection of meals for our Business Class customers to choose from for their flights from Perth.
“We know that our customers want more choice and a restaurant-quality dining experience when they travel, which is exactly what Book the Cook provides them.
“With 15 delicious dishes to choose from I am sure there will be a dish to satisfy everyone.”
The launch of Book the Cook in Perth comes as Singapore Airlines continues to celebrate 50 years of operations to Australia, with the first flight from Singapore to Perth in 1967.
As part of the celebrations, Singapore Airlines and Alpha Flight Services offered a specially designed commemorative Australian-themed menu on flights from Perth to Singapore between April and June.
Alpha Flight Services, Perth, Head Chef, James Koh said he was very pleased to be able to work with Singapore Airlines again to provide an enhanced onboard dining offering.
“We were very pleased to have the opportunity to create some exciting dishes as part of Singapore Airlines 50th Anniversary earlier this year,” Chef Koh said.
“To have the opportunity to once again work with the team at Singapore Airlines to develop a new onboard offering for their flights from Perth is something myself and the team at Alpha have been very excited about.
“We are looking forward to providing Singapore Airlines Business Class customers with a dish of their choice next time they fly.”
Book the Cook will be available for flights departing Perth from 1 October 2017, with selections able to be made from Monday 25 September 2017.
