Singapore, 28 August 2017 – Pan Pacific Hotels Group is pleased to announce the appointment of E.J. MacEwan as General Manager for PARKROYAL Saigon in Vietnam and Paul Flett as General Manager for Pan Pacific Sonargaon Dhaka in Bangladesh.

E.J. MacEwan joined Pan Pacific Hotels Group as General Manager of Pan Pacific Sonargaon Dhaka from 1997 to 1999, a post which he returned to in 2009 after successful terms as General Manager of Pan Pacific Kuala Lumpur and Sari Pan Pacific Jakarta. E.J. is an industry veteran with experience spanning rooms, F&B and catering in the United States and the Middle East before he joined the Group.

Despite the challenging environment, E.J. was instrumental in establishing the reputation of Pan Pacific Sonargaon Dhaka as one of the most popular five-star hotels in Bangladesh, with particular success at cementing it as the hotel of choice for international events and diplomatic missions.

E.J.'s new role will see him leading the 186-room PARKROYAL Saigon, which is recognised by Ho Chi Minh City's Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism as one of the five “Top 4-Star Hotels” in the city. The hotel is also located close to the Central Business District, the Tan Binh Exhibition and Convention Centre, as well as District 1, the city's business, shopping and entertainment hub.

In 2013, Paul was appointed Hotel Manager at PARKROYAL Darling Harbour, Sydney, where he oversaw the Engineering, Front Office, Restaurants, Bars and Events, and Housekeeping teams. In a career spanning more than 20 years in operations and F&B, Paul had worked at Cypress Lake Resort in Hunter Valley, as well as hotel brands such as Radisson, InterContinental Hotels Group and Rydges.

Paul's promotion to General Manager will see him taking charge of the 277-room Pan Pacific Sonargaon Dhaka. Located in central Dhaka, the hotel is situated prominently in the centre of Bangladesh's Diplomatic Zone and commercial district, and in proximity to the city's historical sites and shopping options.
