Visit West Hollywood, the city's tourism marketing organization, has named Anne Van Gorp as the new Director of Communications. She previously held the Communications Manager position.

Ms. Van Gorp's tourism knowledge of West Hollywood is significant and a key asset to the organization.  Prior to her role at Visit West Hollywood, she was the Marketing Manager for the West Hollywood Design District Business Improvement District for two years.  In both positions, she managed relationships with domestic and international media, strategically elevating the brand of West Hollywood and its unique businesses while driving media interest in the destination.

In her new role, Ms. Van Gorp will manage all in-house public relations efforts, including three tourism public relations agencies, in Australia, UK and U.S., and develop market-specific initiatives and messaging to continue promotion of the current lodging brands and new hotel product in 2017-18. In addition, she will conduct media outreach and missions to key markets while managing select familiarization visits to garner earned media coverage for the destination.

Previously, Ms. Van Gorp led strategic communications at the West Hollywood Design District through stakeholder and B2B relations, social media and digital efforts, and district-wide event activations. Ms. Van Gorp also worked with the development team at TRUFFLE Travel, a start-up company offering female consumers immersive experiences and curated city guides through a mobile-application. 

Ms. Van Gorp was the recipient of the merit-based Presidential Scholarship from her alma mater, University of Southern California, where she holds a B.A in Anthropology and minors in Nonprofit, Philanthropy and Volunteerism, and History,  graduating Magna Cum Laude.

Ms. Van Gorp is the recipient of this year's CalTravel's “Under 30 Emerging Leader Award”, recognizing contributions to the promotion of travel, tourism and hospitality based on past accomplishments and future professional potential within the industry. She is a member of the Public Relations Society of America's Travel & Tourism sector.
