Inghams Celebrates Its 20th Year in Finnish Lapland With the Launch of Its New Winter 2017/18 Programme

Inghams has announced the launch of its winter 2017/18 Lapland programme, which marks its 20th year as a destination specialist to the popular winter holiday location. Operating a hugely successful programme, which runs from November to April, the brochure features a wide choice of exciting package holidays including to the unspoilt resorts of Levi, Ylläs and Saariselkä, as well as the newly-added seven night Muotka Wilderness Lodge holiday and the increasingly popular three and four night Santa Short Breaks.

A new addition to its exciting Lapland programme, to mark its 20th year of expertise, Inghams has introduced the newly built Five Star Arctic Hotel in Saariselkä, which combines the rustic charm of a log cabin with the modern comforts of a high-end hotel. The programme will also offer new flights from Gatwick to Ivalo to shorten transfer times to Saariselkä and the chance to spend a night under the stars in an Aurora Cabin.

What's New for 2017/18?

NEW Five Star Arctic Hotel:

  • Due to open in December 2017, the Five Star Arctic Hotel will bring luxury accommodation to Saariselkä this winter. Located in a scenic fell-top location above Saariselkä village, guests can enjoy the use of a public sauna, modern restaurant and bar with cosy fireplace. Large glass windows will adorn every room, offering uninterrupted views over the arctic wilderness. All rooms are duplex suites sleeping two – four people, with an option to upgrade to a luxury suite with private sauna or a glass cabin. Prices start from £1,479 per person for seven nights on a half-board basis, including return flights from Gatwick or Manchester to Kittilä or new direct flights to Ivalo from Gatwick
  • Extended season in Levi and Yllas with seven night holidays running up until Easter 2018 (7th April)            
  • Santa Breaks have been extended to now include departures from the 26th November 2017 right up until Christmas           
  • New direct flights from London Gatwick to Ivalo available for all guests staying at the Muotka Lodge Cabin and Saariselkä, shortening the transfer time to just 20 minutes
  • Guests booking a seven night stay at the Muotka Lodge Cabin will receive one free night in an Aurora Cabin if booked before 30th June 2017

  • Muotka Wilderness Lodge: A unique experience for guests to stay deep in Sami country at the Muotka Wilderness Lodge, a lovely property located on the edge of the serene Urho – Kekkonen National Park. Head out each day and enjoy a range of thrilling activities from exciting husky, snowmobile and reindeer safaris to cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.
  • Cross-county skiing in Ylläs: Not only is cross-country skiing easy to learn, it's more sociable than downhill skiing and is a fantastic workout!   • A night under the stars: The epitome of eco-chic, Aurora Cabins are stylishly designed and built from a very special thermo glass so that the temperature inside remains cosy, even when the temperature outside drops under -30 Celsius. The cabins give a unique vantage point to view the Northern Lights from the comfort of your own bed.
  • Chasing the Northern Lights on a snowmobile: Seeing the northern lights continues to top British people's bucket lists. One of the best ways to see this spectacular phenomenal is on a night-time snowmobile excursion. Whizz though the spectacular Arctic wilderness into unspoilt nature and away from light pollution.     
  • Family Holidays & Santa Breaks: Treat the kids to an unforgettable Short Santa Break, where families have the chance to meet Santa and his elves at his workshop hidden deep in the forest. Children can enjoy festive games, help the elves bake gingerbread biscuits, meet Rudolph, ride on an Icelandic horse and take a trip on a snowmobile train. There will also the opportunity to have Christmas dinner with Santa.
