Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Sydney Office has partnered with Phuket Pearl Group to create a unique crown for Miss World Australia 2017, to be revealed at the crowning ceremony at Grand Hyatt Melbourne on 14th July 2017.
The crown for Miss World Australia 2017 will be encrusted with Blue Ocean Pearls, precious gems renowned for their colour, South Sea Pearls, Akoya Pearls and blue gemstones, and is valued at $40,000.
Mr Saran Somrak, Managing Director of Phuket Pearl Group said that “The concept of Miss World Australia's crown, is inspired by a love of our beautiful seascape. We have tried to recreate this natural beauty forged by nature's architects with the richest detail on this carefully handcrafted pearl crown. Our inspiration is taken from the rhythm of the ocean waves, which have carried these pearls to the iconic place of Australia.
“The contrast between the organic wave structures of the Sydney Opera House fused together with the geometric pattern of Sydney Harbour Bridge, gives the crown balance and harmony.”
According to TAT Sydney Director, Ms Rujiras Chatchalermkit, “Thailand is one of Asia's most popular destinations, with warm, crystal clear water, beautiful beaches, and many unique attractions; however, not many people also realise that Thailand is also a world leading jewelry producer. Phuket Pearl Group is one of Thailand's most well-known jewelry producers with international recognition for creating crowsn for Miss World in many other countries including Singapore, Switzerland, Myanmar and Thailand. It's time for Thailand to promote the beauty of pearls and gemstones through Miss World Australia's crown this year.
The Miss World Australia competition offers incredible opportunities for entrants. Among the gifts and prizes on offer is an all-expenses paid luxury holiday in Thailand sponsored by Tourism Authority of Thailand for six lucky contestants. The Crowned Miss World Australia 2017 will also be awarded a show-stopping crown from Phuket Pearls.
