Palm Springs, California's famous desert oasis and Hollywood playground for the stars, is getting ready to welcome Comic Con – from 25th-27th August, for the second consecutive year – to its palm tree-lined streets. Bringing together some of the most passionate and talented people from the world of comic books and popular-culture, fans in excess of 12,000 will flock to the city for a fun-filled weekend of entertainment; with the promise of meeting some of the industry's star players, including Stan Lee himself!   

Originally launched in San Diego on California's Pacific coast, Comic Con is the creation of four comic book, movie and sci-fi fanatics who came together to celebrate their love of popular-culture and, in turn, produced California's very first comic book convention. Since its inception in 1970, Comic Con has become the world's number one convention of its kind and, over the years, has welcomed a number of Hollywood A-listers including Johnny Depp, Robert Downey Jr., Nicolas Cage and many more!

Under Palm Springs' year-round sunshine in August 2017, comic book enthusiasts will be treated to an eclectic mix of comic-centric events and attractions including a Zombie Maze escape room and Downtown Palm Springs' Zombie walk; a Lego exhibit room; virtual reality lounges; hands-on workshops and Comic Con's world-famous costume competition …not to mention access to the city's large-scale exhibition hall! New for 2017 is also a 3D interactive film festival; a special panel experience held at the top of the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway and, for those who wish to fully embrace the experience, a hotel solely dedicated to “Single GeekNerds.” A full calendar of events can be seen here.

Joining Stan Lee, the Founder of Marvel Comics, this year is a number world-famous artists, writers, actors and producers including J. Scott Campbell, Danger Girl and Amazing Spider Man artist; Mike Carlin, writer for Marvel DC Comics; Lynda Carter, the original Wonder Woman; and Jean MacCurdy, former President of Warner Brothers Animations.
