A new shiny-light has been added to the Perth skyline as the first sign is installed for TRIBE Hotel Group's revolutionary new concept in hotels.
This new category of affordable sophisticated hotel luxury will be unveiled when Australia's first integrated modular design hotel, the $30 million TRIBE Perth, welcomes its first guests on May 16.
The cutting-edge 126 room hotel sets itself apart from traditional accommodation by using a contemporary modular design and construction method comprising pre-fabricated guest rooms.
It features eight floors of stylish and highly functional hotel rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows and the latest in-room hotel technology.
TRIBE Hotel Group Founder Mark Peters said TRIBE Perth was designed from the ground up, dissecting every aspect of hotel design to create a new hotel model which provides a contemporary design driven experience at a fraction of the price.
“We circumvented traditional construction methods and pioneered a modular build system that slashes construction costs and environmental footprints,” said Mr Peters.
“These cost savings are then passed onto our guests, delivering an accessible luxury hotel alternative.
“The first two-levels, lobby, common space and the lift core are constructed in the standard manner and everything above this is facilitated through modular construction methods.”
Mr Peters said the projected growth of leisure and business tourism in Perth motivated the construction of the first hotel in the TRIBE Hotel Group portfolio.
“Our investment in Perth is in response to the growth we expect in tourism visitor numbers over the next decade,” he said.
Mantra Group, the largest Australian-based hotel and resort operator, is managing TRIBE Perth as its first external brand.
Mantra Group Chief Executive Officer Bob East said Perth's recent influx of new accommodation provides an enormous opportunity for growth in tourism, conferences and events, business travel and employment.
“It delivers increased capacity for leisure tourism, supports growth in conferences and exhibitions and provides high-level business and corporate accommodation,” said Mr East.
“The Perth market is in a solid position with strong occupancies. We expect this to be sustained by a growing leisure travel sector along with corporate travel and inbound tourism maintaining strong demand for the city.
“We're confident TRIBE Perth will be a great success.”
Located on the burgeoning doorstep of the ever-expanding Perth CBD, TRIBE Perth is based next door to Kings Park and minutes away from some of the city's best restaurants, bars and tourist attractions.
It offers a range of luxurious designer driven, highly functional guest rooms which have been cleverly crafted to complement its unique and social living areas.
Offering an edited hotel experience, TRIBE Perth redefines the hotel experience for a new generation, removing the noise and focusing on what important for modern travellers.
Rooms start from $199* per night.
TRIBE Perth was developed in partnership by Founders Mark and Melissa Peters together with Salta Properties and the Victor Smorgon Group and built by ProBuild.
Expansion plans are already well underway with new TRIBE hotel sites acquired in Adelaide, Hobart and Melbourne, and intentions to expand internationally.
