Jet2 Holidays have analysed 4 popular online photo sharing platforms to find the most photographed countries in the world. Making it to the overall top spot is the US - with iconic places such as New York City helping the country become the most popular place for travel snaps.
Following the US in the top 5 are Japan, Italy, the UK and France.
The research has looked at photos shared across Instagram, Flickr, Deviant Art and Photobucket - with results also broken down to find the most popular countries on each individual social network.
The most photographed country on Instagram is Italy, while taking the top spot on Flickr is the UK. On Deviant Art Japan was found to be the most photographed country and for Photobucket the number 1 spot goes to New Zealand.
The full results of the research can be found in the infographic produced by Jet2 Holidays.
The research gives insight into the most popular photography spots in the world as well as an insight into which countries are most popular on each photo sharing platform.
