The Fizz Festival, the only UK consumer wine fair dedicated to Champagne and sparkling wine, will take place at The Edinburgh Academy on Henderson Row on Saturday 29 October 2016. This one day event will incorporate a host of wine merchants, specialist masterclasses and local Scottish food producers with visitors being given a fantastic opportunity to taste, learn about and buy fizz from around the world. Visitors will also be able to purchase their favourite fizz on the day – a great opportunity before the festive season.

It's a fantastic event with over 75 Champagnes and sparkling wines from around the world for visitors to try. There are two sessions to choose from; 12pm-3pm and 4pm-7pm and a choice of three fizztastic masterclasses will take place during each session.

“It's very exciting to be bringing The Fizz Festival to Edinburgh” says co-organiser Diana Thompson. “We have had a great response from exhibitors eager to be part of this sparkling festival and showcase some of the best sparkling wines and Champagnes available to those living in and around Edinburgh.”

Co-organiser Diana Thompson of Thompson PR will also be launching Wine Events Scotland at the festival which will be dedicated to organising wine workshops, tastings, festivals and wine courses.

Fizz Festival Masterclasses
Doug Wood of Woodwinters - 2016 Wine Merchant of the Year will be presenting The Wines of Ferghettina from Italy's Finest Sparkling Wine Region Franciacorta during his masterclass. This will be followed by Master of Wine Mark O'Bryen MW presenting a selection of the famous Taittinger Champagne; one of the oldest family owned Champagne Houses. Visitors can also choose to travel the Fizz Line with Nikki Welch, founder of The WineTubeMap, who will be taking tasters on a whistle stop tour of different styles of sparkling wines using the WineTubeMap's unique approach to wine.
