InterContinental Hong Kong's celebrated STEAK HOUSE winebar + grill, which has just been awarded the “Best of Award of Excellence” from Wine Spectator Magazine for the 7th consecutive year, is hosting a wine dinner on September 7th with Château Pape Clément, one of the Grand Cru Classé Wines in Bordeaux, France. The 4-course menu by STEAK HOUSE Chef Chiu Ming Chan, paired with six Grand Cru wines by Château Pape Clément, is HK$1,688 + 10% service per person.

Château Pape Clément is one of the oldest Grand Crus of Bordeaux with a history dating back to the 12th century. The Estate took its name from its most famous owner, Bertrand de Goth, the Archbishop of Bordeaux who became Pope Clement V in 1305. In the 1980s, entrepreneur Bernard Magrez took over the Château and has since built an unprecedented international reputation for this Grand Cru Classé wine.

From the Pessac-Léognan appellation, Château Pape Clément is ranked among the Crus Classés for red and white wine in the Classification of Graves wine in 1959.  It is the oldest wine estate in Bordeaux. (In 2006 it marked the harvesting of its 700th vintage.). The winery and vineyards are located in the commune of Pessac, south-west of the city of Bordeaux.

At the September 7th wine dinner, Augustin Deschamps, Director of Development for Château Pape Clément, will be at THE STEAK HOUSE winebar + grill to personally introduce  Château Pape Clément, one of the dynamic Grands Crus Classés from Bordeaux, along with Tour Carnet, Fombrauge and Clos Haut, which are also owned by Bernard Magrez.
