Salamander Resort & Spa Announces New Activities, Events and Specials for Summer
MIDDLEBURG, VA – May 26, 2016 – Salamander Resort & Spa, situated in the storied town of Middleburg, VA, announces new offerings, seasonal specials and events for the summer, adding to their robust list of activities available for guests.
New Activities
Salamander Horsemanship Club
A once-in-a-lifetime experience for a horse lover, the Salamander Horsemanship Club includes a half day of hands-on Horsemanship including the Essential Horsemanship experience, Equine Communication class, Stable Management training, a Riding Lesson and Trail Ride. Each participant receives an official Equestrian Center hat and photo of their favorite horse in a Salamander Resort & Spa frame. Adults or parents of youth participants will also receive complimentary 2-hour spa facility access for two (2) adults and one (1) complimentary Rasul treatment.
Yappy Hour
Give your dog a bone - literally. Hosted on Salamander Resort & Spa's Grand Lawn every Tuesday from 5-7 pm, this Yappy Hour features drink specials from the resort's Gold Cup Wine Bar, specially curated menu items and of course treats for the dogs! Guests and their pups can mingle, sip and snack while giving back to a good cause with 10% of proceeds donated to the Middleburg Humane Foundation.
In-Room Teepee: The perfect vacation addition to bring the fun and excitement of camping into the comfort of Salamander's luxurious guestroom. Camping experience includes teepee, Feather Mattress Topper Bedding, Deck of Cards, Stuffed Salamander Fox, and Salamander Signature Lantern.

Salamander Outdoor Cinema
Bring blankets and chairs and join the crowd on the Grand Lawn for a one of a kind outdoor movie experience. Salamander Resort & Spa will be showing a family friendly feature every Friday night at 8:45 p.m. throughout the summer months. Food and drinks are available throughout the movie from the Gold Cup Wien Bar as well as s'more kits. All films are rated G or PG. *Weather Dependent.

Summer Cocktail Weekend
A special weekend featuring noted DC mixologist Jeremy Ross and hosted by Salamander Resort & Spa Beverage Director Michael Foote.
- Friday, June 17: Jeremy Ross executes a “Bar Takeover” at Gold Cup Wine Bar creating his specialties and exploring new flavor combinations.
- Saturday, June 18: Cocktail hour starts with a mixology class from Jeremy Ross in Salamander Resort & Spa's signature Cooking Studio. Learn how to curate cocktails using bitters, shrubs and syrups and create wow-worthy drink rims and party-perfect garnishes – using ingredients gathered from the Salamander Culinary Garden that guests could also grow at home. Guests can also choose to meet with an exciting list of new distilleries with experts offering tastings and education regarding the creation of key ingredients. Guests who choose to partake in the entire experience will end their evening with a five-course cocktail-paired dinner curated by Ross.

- Dad's Spa Month: Celebrate Dad at the Salamander Spa all month long. In June, book a 50-minute or longer massage for Dad and receive a complimentary massage enhancement or enjoy 20 percent off the 60-minute Organic Male Regimen Facial.
- Countryside Trail Rides: Dads ride for 50 percent off throughout June. Treat dad to the natural beauty of Virginia's countryside while meandering through the woods and fields at a leisurely walk. Rides run approximately one hour daily: 10am, 12:30pm, 2pm and 3:30pm. Ages 10 & up. $135 pp.

- July 4th Celebration
- Detox with talented chef, author, and TV personality Amie Valpone during this two-day program of clean eating education sessions combined with mealtime cooking demos. As author of the recently published “Eating Clean”, Amie will guide guests through this workshop that will also include an excursion to learn to shop like Amie at the supermarket and a visit to a local certified organic farm. Round out the experience with detoxifying spa treatments and an introduction to breathing techniques and other relaxation and exercise strategies.
- Independence Day Celebration Cookout: Hosted July 4 on Salamander Resort & Spa's Grand Lawn featuring a classic BBQ buffet and cash bars from 4-10 pm. $45 per person
- Independence Day Pool Party: Hosted on July 3 from 11am - 7 pm at the Outdoor Resort Pool. Guests enjoy pool access, a full food and beverage menu for purchase, music and pool games.
- Zip Line Cornhole: Enjoy Salamander Resort & Spa's Tree Top Zip Tour while trying to land Cornhole bags on the board from 35-55 feet above the ground while speeding at 20-30 mph. - Patriotic Bike Parade: Enjoy a patriotic July 4th spectacle through Middleburg. The event kicks-off with bike decorating on Salamander Resort & Spa's Grand Lawn from 4:30-5:15 p.m. At 5:30 the start at the Middleburg Community Center and will conclude at 6 p.m. A limited number of adult and youth bikes are available for rent at Salamander Resort & Spa, but guests are encouraged to bring their own bike.Culinary Garden Event, Thursday July 14th
