- Eight campsites honoured with 'Best Campsite in Europe' award.
- Almost half of the best campsites in Spain are in Tarragona.
The Association of Campsites in the Costa Dorada and Terre de L'Ebre has once again been awarded with the highest distinction of the European camping sector.
Eight of its establishments, one more compared to last years' edition, were named as 'Best Campsite 2016'*. The awards recognise the best campsites in Europe and were announced as part of the two ceremonies in Utrecht and Stuttgart.
The eight awarded campsites in Tarragona were the Templo del Sol, Torre del Sol, Playa Montroig, Sangulí, Tamarit Park, Stel, El Park Playa Barà and, for the first time this year, Els Prats. Among the 129 awarded campsites in Europe, 20 are located in Spain with eight of those (40%) located in the province of Tarragona, positioning the region as a hub for camping in Southern Europe.
