Taber Boosts Iceland Offering This Summer

Scandinavia Only

Scandinavia specialists Taber Holidays have boosted their summer offering to Iceland with the introduction of exciting new excursions into the heart of a volcano and a unique ice cave, flights from Aberdeen, luxury accommodation and two brand new itineraries. The new additions are in response to overwhelming demand for the land of 'fire and ice'. Prices lead in at just £795pp for a three-night 'Reykjavik and the Golden Circle' short break.

The more adventurous at heart can try out one of Taber's brand new excursions 'Inside The Volcano' and 'Into the Glacier'. Journeying into the depths of a dormant volcano, this exhilarating experience is possible from Reykjavik and costs £220pp. After a hike through the lava fields of the Blue Mountains, guests will arrive at the rim of Thrihnukagigur volcano, the only place on Earth where you can take a lift inside a volcano's magma chamber! For those who prefer a more chilled experience, Taber have also added a full-day tour to the Langjökull Ice Cave. This unique man-made ice cave is inside one of Iceland's largest and most spectacular glaciers. The tour begins by bus from Reykjavik and continues by monster truck, which takes guests almost to the top of the glacier where they will enter the cave with a guide. It costs £166pp.

Those wishing to travel to Iceland from Scotland, can now do so on a brand new flight with Icelandair from Aberdeen, connecting the town with Keflavik four times a week. Departing every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, the new route is in addition to services already operating from Glasgow.

Guests will also have the choice of more luxury accommodation with the luxurious Siglo Hotel, a beautiful hotel surrounding the mountains and marina in Iceland's northernmost town Siglufjördur, and also the new Hotel Laxá in Mývatn, which opened in 2014.

In addition, Taber Holidays have added two brand new itineraries, the 'Highland Journey Across Iceland', an intrepid exploration of north and south by Highland bus and the 'West and North Iceland Explorer' a luxury fly-drive tour.
