Unique Latin America

Citing an “overriding aura of refinement” and a “concierge to open the right doors,” Conde Nast Traveller, one of the world's most discerning travel publications, names Hotel B to its Gold List 2016: The Best Hotels in the World.

Only twenty hotels around the world were selected for this exceptional distinction. The sole winner from South America, Hotel B joins hospitality icons Hotel Bel-Air, Royal Mansour and the Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc on this 12th annual edition of the Gold List that appears in the February 2016 issue.

Published in the United Kingdom and respected throughout the world, Conde Nast Traveller asked editors, writers and luxury travel experts to visit then rigorously evaluate properties across all seven continents on the basis of service, location, food, rooms, leisure facilities and ambience & design.

“A passionate bohemian” that is “the unofficial headquarters for the neighbourhood's creatives and Limeño socialites,” the 17-room Hotel B earns praise for its unparalleled access to the otherwise off-limits artist ateliers of Lima's retro-chic Barranco neighborhood that Hotel B calls home, as well as for renowned chef Oscar Velarde's innovative, Peru-inspired gourmet dishes, the discreet yet intuitive service of highly trained butlers and the sublime setting of the new Rooftop Terrace, created by respected Limeño designer Luz Maria Buse.

Referring to Hotel B's “astonishing collection of contemporary art” belonging to Lucia & Susana de la Puente, the esteemed magazine singles out these “First Ladies of the Peruvian art scene” for their influence on Hotel B's elegant interiors and confirms in print these stylish sisters are very much “credited with nurturing the once sleepy neighbourhood of Barranco into the global art hub it is today.”

Far from resting upon these impressive laurels, Maria Jose Guedet, General Manager of Hotel B says guests can look forward in 2016 to several exciting additions including a private yacht to sail the coast of Lima with a chef and butler on board. Later this year, Hotel B will expand on the second floor of the Lucia de la Puente gallery with four new Atelier bedrooms. The building's design, by Peruvian architect David Mutal will be complemented by the interior design work of Jordi Puig.
