Vienna House

New hotel brand Vienna House entered into the international market on 1 February 2016. The umbrella brand “Vienna House” brings together four separate hotel lines, each with its own personality but all with the same-shared values.

Vienna International Hotels and Resorts has unveiled the 'Vienna House'. This new concept will see the entire line of hotels renovated to embody Austria's famous culture and hospitality, with emphasis on provenance, personalisation and customer wellbeing.

The rebrand marks a major milestone for Vienna House CEO Rupert Simoner, who first set out to simplify the Vienna International hotel experience in 2014.

Mr Simoner explains, “The name 'Vienna' stands for the company's origins and for the quality of life, joie de vivre and hospitality for which the city is famous. 'House' is a place that unites, where you can be yourself, where the family comes together, and where you invite friends and guests as a host.

"This feeling of contemporary, modern Vienna, combined with our shared European roots and traditions, will be reflected in all hotels.”

The umbrella brand 'Vienna House' brings together four separate hotel lines, each with their own personality but the same core values. While the andel's and angelo's brands will remain, a new 'Vienna House Easy' brand will replace the Arcadia and Chopin lines.

Vienna House Easy in Landsberg, the first of 13 to be completed, showcases a combination of individuality, regionality and class. Changes include a new bakery style breakfast that supports local producers, a mini-shop replacing in-room minibars, a new self-service menu of pillow options and creative meeting spaces. Vienna House Easy restaurants will be based on Vienna's famous Naschmarkt, with each hotel looking to develop partnerships with local producers.

In line with these changes comes considerable investment in new technology including high-speed internet, web-based concierge services and mobile check in & check out. 'Vienna House' will also offer bike stations, e-vehicle charging stations and car sharing stations.

Mr Simoner continues, "Crucial was our answer to the questions why we do what we do. We strongly believe that nothing is more refined than the simple things in life and we want to do one thing above all: inspire our guests. It is about being a great host… the new brand design, the fresh colours and images and the mobile, fully-responsive website follow accordingly.”

Outlook 2016

Part of changing the culture of the organisation has meant Vienna House has had to invest heavily in employee development.

Staff members are offered more freedom and flexibility, as well as a broad range of experiences. The Vienna House Academy provides access to more than 60 training seminars in 12 fields, while a micro-learning tool means that employees can access small training units via their smartphones. The aim is that this comprehensive training programme will result in authentic, professional staff and improved standards of customer care.
