Combining a music festival with a holiday not only means you can see your favourite band in a remote and beautiful spot, it's also an easy way to mingle with the locals, sample regional food and immerse yourself in an area's culture.
Scotland has seen a boom in festivals and whether you like them big or small, mainstream or quirky, it has them all - T in the Park, Loopallu and Belladrum being amongst the most well known.
See Ten of the Best below.
Skye Live
An eclectic mix of more than 30 Scottish folk music and cutting edge dance and electronica acts, coupled with a stunning island location makes Skye Live the must go event of Scotland's blossoming festival scene.
Simian Mobile Disco, Capercaillie, Bicep, Jackmaster and Mercury Music Prize nominee C Duncan will be amongst the headliners at the unique two-day event, taking place ahead of the May Day bank holiday, next April. See www.skyelive.scot for the full line up.
Festival goers can also catch a daredevil display of skills - made famous in the iconic jaw-dropping movie, The Ridge - as local hero, stunt cyclist Danny MacAskill brings his Drop and Roll tour of street trials stunts home to Skye for the weekend.
With cheap direct flights to Inverness from most UK airports and good public transport connections to Skye it's easy to get to Scotland's best new boutique music festival.

About Skye Live
Skye Live is the brainchild of Skye based businessman and DJ Ali MacIsaac aka (McFly) and DJ and club promoter Niall Munro (aka Munroso) – son of Scottish music legend, Runrig front man Donnie.
Having been involved with the Skye Music Festival, Ali wanted to fill the gap it had left since the last event was held in 2007. Together with Niall, they organised Skye Live's first festival at The Lump in Portree in April 2015. The event was a sell-out success reaching its capacity of 1,800 tickets sold over the weekend.
Reflecting the promoters and islanders eclectic music taste headliners included: Hot Chip, Andy Weatherall the Peatbog Faeries and Donnie Munro.
