Last week Zaytoun won the International Impact award at the UK Social Enterprise Awards. Zaytoun Organic, Fairtrade Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Palestinian olive oil is renowned for its pungent, peppery flavour - and Zaytoun works with some of the finest olive growers in the world.  This was also the first organic Fairtrade olive oil to be sold in the UK. 

Zaytoun Medjoul Dates: King of Dates grown in the Holy Land

Sweet and succulent, Zaytoun Medjoul Dates are grown in the sunshine on the outskirts of Jericho, just down the road from Bethlehem making them a great Christmas gift. 

Zaytoun is the only importer of fair trade Palestinian dates to the UK. The Medjoul dates are sourced through the Palm Farmers Cooperative and represent a vital source of income for the farmers who struggle to access their lands under the occupation.

What is Zaytoun CIC?

Zaytoun is a UK social enterprise importing and selling fairly traded Palestinian produce. Harvested and prepared by hand, our products are a creative response to the story of loss of land and livelihood under occupation. Zaytoun focuses on developing markets for Palestinian produce as a means to support a sustainable livelihood for the growers. We work with them to trial new products and bring product quality and packaging up to exacting UK standards.

An initial loan from Triodos Bank enabled Zaytoun to place an order with the Palestinian producers, and since then the business has worked in partnership with Palestinian suppliers including Canaan Fair Trade, the Palestine Fair Trade Association and in the UK, the Fairtrade Foundation.
