Seattle, September 2015 – Hurtigruten has announced a mega-saving offer on its popular Classic Winter Coastal Voyages along Norway's fjord-indented west coast. The Northern Lights 5-Day Sale runs September 28-October 2 with savings of up to 40% off regular prices on all winter sailings. With 11 ships departing Norway daily, there are plenty of sailings to choose from, spanning from October 1, 2015 to March 31, 2016. Example fares include $785 per person, double, for a six-day sailing from Kirkenes to Bergen in November and December ($974 in savings), and $914 for the seven-day reverse itinerary (savings of $1,005). The 12-day, Classic Round Trip voyages will be going for $1,489-$1,889, depending on departure dates (with savings of $716-$1,301). On top of these tremendous rates, guests booking a 12-day winter sailing between October 2015 and February 2016 will be eligible for the Northern Lights Promise—the Aurora Borealis will appear during your 12-day voyage or get another sailing free.
Recognized as “The world's most beautiful voyage,” by Lonely Planet, Hurtigruten's modern ships sail along a route honored twice by National Geographic Traveler as the “Best Destination in the World.” A staple of Norwegian culture for more than 120 years, the Classic Voyage offers a unique glimpse into Norwegian culture. The incredible diversity of ports offers Hurtigruten's guests a wealth of experiences and an ever-changing landscape of small fishing villages in the rugged Lofoten Islands; Art Nouveau Ålesund, the medieval Viking capital of Trondheim; and Norway's “Paris of the North,” Tromsø. A variety of new excursions include hikes, whale watching, guided cycling trips, fishing, kayaking, an evening trot under the midnight sun on gentle Icelandic horses and more.
Savings vary by date, length of voyage and cabin/suite selection. An online booking engine with interactive calendar showing prices, availability and more can be found at http://www.hurtigruten.com/us/norway5daysale/.
