Celebrate Super Dads of the Sea at the Sea Life London Aquarium This Fathers' Day

SEA LIFE London Aquarium

Learn all that's great about dads this Fathers' Day weekend with 'Super dads of the Sea' celebration at the SEA LIFE London Aquarium. Guests to the South Bank attraction can join in with specially themed expert talks and activities about which marine animals make the best fathers and why. PLUS all dads visiting with their children get in for half price on Fathers' Day.*

The experts will be on hand to give dad-related animal facts in their specially themed talks. For example: did you know that for seahorses, it's the dads that look after the eggs during pregnancy? Guests can wonder at these amazing creatures in the new Sea Dragon Kingdom area – with Yellow seahorses alongside mystical looking Weedy sea dragons and Alligator pipefish – males in these closely related species all carry their eggs.

Plus in Penguins: Ice Adventure area – visitors can get up close to the SEA LIFE London Aquarium's resident colony of Gentoo penguins – including Arnie who fathered baby Elsa last year and helped mum Luna incubate their egg, taking turns keeping it warm. Guests can also learn about the pre-historic looking Lumpsuckers – who, in the wild, make doting fathers, staying with their eggs to protect them even when the tide goes out.

For an extra treat - visitors can book a Behind the Scenes Tour (tickets from £4.50 for children and £6.75 for adults online), to visit some baby and 'teenage' seahorses that are being looked after by aquarists as part of a SEA LIFE London Aquarium breeding programme, supported by The Seahorse Trust**.
