FAMILY TRAVELLER MAGAZINE & FAMILYTRAVELLER.COM LAUNCHES FIRST AWARDS TO RECOGNISE FAMILY HOLIDAY INDUSTRY

Nominations open from 11th May 5th June 2015

Family Traveller magazine and familytraveller.com, the UK's first and only media business dedicated to family holidays, has today launched its inaugural Family Traveller Awards 2015 (FTAs). With nominations now open, and closing on 5th June, Family Traveller are calling on the industry to enter.

The first ever winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in London in early September 2015.

The aim of the awards is to recognise the best in family travel. The magazine itself focuses on helping families make the most of their free time together through inside-track information, celebrity interviews, in-depth destination features and looking ahead at holiday trends. The awards will replicate this ethos by recognising mould-breaking operators, providers and destinations from the UK and across the world.

PR and marketing professionals, whether agency-side or in-house, as well as business owners, are being asked to enter their clients or themselves into as many of the 18 categories as are relevant. This is to be done via a dedicated awards website http://awards.familytraveller.com.

After nominations close, a panel of expert judges will draw up a shortlist. This will be published online (www.familytraveller.com) on 1st July, and in the July/August 2015 edition of the magazine. It will also be promoted across social networks and channels. Readers and members of the public will then be invited to vote until the start of September, when the finalists will be announced.

“Family Traveller, since its inception, has asked its readers to love their time together,” says Jane Anderson, editor of the magazine. “And this is the spirit of the awards – finding the very best family travel brands and locations that enable families to connect, relax, play, explore and learn whilst they are away.

“We are calling on PRs, marketeers, business managers and owners to enter. The process is simple and quick. We know the family holiday industry represents some of the most innovative and exciting brands and players working in travel, and we want to showcase them as much as we can.”

The 18 award categories are:

“Family-centric travel represents 25% of the entire travel industry – and is becoming more important as a category. As the industry focuses more on this sector, we want to celebrate those businesses that are making commitments towards all things family and travel.” comments Andrew Dent, publisher of Family Traveller.

“Quality in family travel is about value, experiences, detail and service, it's about ensuring that all members of the party have a good time. Family holiday providers have to deliver on many fronts, and our awards will recognise this.”
