May Is Shark Month at the Sea Life London Aquarium

SEA LIFE London Aquarium

The SEA LIFE London Aquarium is continuing their campaign to challenge misconceptions about sharks this May, with a mix of interactive talks, fun family activities including a JAWsome Shark workshop and an exhibition of beautifully carved miniature animal sculptures made from the aquarium's discarded shark teeth.

Throughout May, including Half Term, guests can come face to fin with more than 15 amazing sharks in the attraction's Shark Reef Encounter display, plus learn about their threatened world and how everyone can do a little bit to make a big difference.

The SEA LIFE experts will give bite-sized shark talks in JAWsome Shark workshops where guests will be taken on a journey of discovery to learn about these majestic creatures.* There will also be special themed family activities to join in with including shark story time with cuddly Shakey the Shark** and a FIN-tastic Shark mural which guests can help colour in for a chance to win a special shark prize each week.*** On selected days visitors can even see the South Bank attraction's sharks being fed.**** Finally, guests can wonder at the minute exhibition of astonishing sculptures, created by renowned 'miniature' artist Hedley Wiggan, who crafted six of the aquarium's most popular animals from shark teeth, shed naturally by the attraction's sharks every day.

Shark Month at the SEA LIFE London Aquarium is in partnership with the Shark Trust, aiming to educate guests on the growing dangers sharks face in the wild, from overfishing to finning and habitat destruction which all seriously impact on global shark populations.

Don't forget, as well as the sharks there is an entire marine world to explore including piranha, rare giant Green Sea turtles, tropical fish, rays, crabs and jellyfish.
