World Nomads wins silver Telly Award
Berkeley, CA – February 24 – Adventure travel insurance company World Nomads today won a silver Telly Award for its web TV series Passport & Plate. Chosen from nearly 12,000 entries from across the US and the world, Passport & Plate was in the top 7-10 per cent of entries.
World Nomads CEO Chris Noble said he was rapt that the video webisodes – part of a scholarship program long loved by customers – were being recognized for their quality and impact.
"Great travelers know that to really explore a place, you need to act like a local, talk like a local and eat like a local. Passport & Plate last year followed three foodies as they learnt about Italy through local food preparation and customs," Mr Noble said.
The Passport & Plate scholarship is indicative of the company's adventurous approach to travel and reinforces the strong connection travelers have with food and culture, he said.
"Our mission is to keep the world traveling well and safely so the scholarship program shows that travelers can have an adventurous, fun and engaging time while still taking care of their safety. We are very excited to have it recognized as top-class video."
Judged by more than 500 accomplished industry professionals, the Telly Awards recognize the best work from television, film and online media.
"The Telly Awards has a mission to honor the very best in film and video," said Linda Day, Executive Director of the Telly Awards. "World Nomads' accomplishment illustrates their creativity, skill, and dedication to their craft and serves as a testament to great film and video production."
Founded in 1979, the Awards is the premier award honoring outstanding local, regional, and cable TV commercials and programs, the finest video and film productions, and online commercials, video and films.
