Marina Bay Sands

An unforgettable night with favourite Hong Kong film stars Julian Cheung and Charmaine Sheh

Singapore - The Skating Rink at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands will once again transform into a star-studded venue for fans of the award-winning Hong Kong drama serial Triumph in the Skies on 16 February, 8:00pm. As the only venue in Singapore to host the premiere and red carpet for the highly-anticipated blockbuster movie, Marina Bay Sands is set to raise the fanfare by inviting everyone to be a part of the electrifying atmosphere and get a closer glimpse of Hong Kong stars Julian Cheung and Charmaine Sheh.

Located at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands, the Skating Rink will offer fans a 360 degree vantage point from the multi-level surroundings, making it an ideal location for star-gazing for all ages. The activities on the red-carpet will also include an interactive component where fans will have the opportunity to win exclusive movie merchandise by answering trivia questions about the movie posed by the emcee.

Triumph in the Skies is a Hong Kong movie adapted from the popular drama series, which tells an aspirational story of the lives of a group of pilots and flight attendants. The movie, which centers on three different romantic story arcs, stars a solid cast of Hong Kong's biggest acts, including Louis Koo, Sammi Cheng, Francis Ng, Julian Cheung, Charmaine Sheh and Kuo Tsai Cheh.

Cheung, who rose to popularity in Greater China based on his role as  Captain Koo "Captain Cool" in the TV serial, will grace the red carpet with co-star Sheh on 16 February, 8:00pm at Marina Bay Sands. Sheh also recently took home several acting awards in China, Hong Kong and South East Asia. In the movie, Cheung reprises his role as Captain Koo while Charmaine portrays a stewardess.

Members of the public are invited to be part of the red carpet event[1] that will precede an exclusive by-invite only movie premiere at the MasterCard Theatres on the same evening. The movie opens in cinemas on 19 February, with sneak previews on 18 February.

George Tanasijevich, President and Chief Executive Officer of Marina Bay Sands, said, “Marina Bay Sands is proud to host yet another headlining movie premiere and red carpet event that would delight our guests and film enthusiasts. We kicked off 2015 with Michael Buble and Broadway musical CATS, and will continue to bring in many other entertainment events – such as these regional blockbuster movie premieres – that will add depth and variety to our multi-layered entertainment strategy.”

Lim Teck, Managing Director of Clover Films, the movie's Singapore distributor, said, “We are very excited to be working with Marina Bay Sands for the premiere of Triumph in the Skies. We believe that fans will have an incredible experience with the opportunity to meet their favourite stars up close and personal. With its stature and hospitality, the integrated resort has the ability to draw electrifying crowds and this is one of the many reasons why we are looking forward to the event and other opportunities with Marina Bay Sands in the future.”
