I am a freelance travel journalist, podcaster, photographer, and author whose work draws on a range of interests.
History, culture, art, and music shape my storytelling. I have an avid interest in Indigenous cultures. I value learning from communities' traditions, perspectives, and histories, and I recognize their profound impact on the regions I explore. Every destination has a story waiting to be uncovered through its museums, art, music, and the wisdom of everyday people. Learning is a lifelong pursuit for me, and I approach each experience with curiosity and respect.
Nature and the outdoors often make their way into my writing, whether I'm exploring parks, gardens, waterfalls, rivers, wildlife, or capturing the quiet beauty of sunrises and sunsets. Agritourism, health and wellness, and culinary stories are always on my radar. I search for the unique qualities of every place I visit so I can share those discoveries with others.
This year, I've spent time in the Pacific Northwest, continuing to explore its striking landscapes and rich cultural heritage. I've also spent time in Tennessee, Florida, New York, Wyoming, Montana, and Indiana. Other recent travels have taken me to the Bahamas and through several Caribbean destinations, including Honduras, Belize, and Cozumel. I will soon be returning to the Caribbean - to the Bahamas again, the Dominican Republic, Turks & Caicos, St. Thomas, and St. Maarten. History and stories play a significant role in all these places. My future travel plans also include adventures in the UK (England, Ireland, Scotland, and Wales), as well as Saxony, Italy, and Greece. Let's see what 2027 brings!
There is an endless world to experience—simple beauty, deep history, and the stories that bind them. That is where my focus continues to grow.
As reflected in my book, I have also written about my home region, sharing insights so others can discover its character and charm. One ongoing mission is to keep exploring music history along the Mississippi Blues Trail. My book, 100 Things to do in Coastal Mississippi Before You Die, was published by Reedy Press and remains available for purchase.
